Best most inexpensive highest quality
UPDATE: first day of pool season. Under my fake tan I’m pale as Casper. Though I had a fresh fake tan... so I couldn’t use an oily sunblock that would erase it (my fellow fake bakers know oily things no no and not even lotions touch you til the first shower - i still had my guide bronzer on). So I used this sloppily dusted over my whole body pretty much (even head since I have short - dark, it rubs in invisible, hair) over the course of an ENTIRE sunny day. UV index 8-9. I was bad and last reapplied it many hours before that peak index was reached. I. Did. Not. Burn. Nor even tan!!!!!!!!!!! It’s like building a concrete wall between you and mr sun! Also by the way I believe all those bad reviews that immediately pop up that trash the “retinyl palmitate “ are probably one disgruntled weirdo who hates vitamin a in its weakest and usually very innocuous form that most people do not notice and are non affected by in the myriad products that it is in. Geez buddy sit on the couch. I can’t believe I was shelling out for that other brand. Also I recommend this over derma e (it broke/clouds went alllll over AND it’s too fair); this is a darker color for my nw30-nc40 while fake tanning skin and doesn’t flash back). Super high zinc and titanium dioxide % with easy effective mechanism that works and is sturdy. Affordable. Nothing bad to say. Have several of them and always keep one in purse to touch up over make up. Kids never burn in pool with it.

Great mattifying powder!
I use mattifying powder a lot, and I purchased this primarily for that purpose, along with the added benefit of sun protection. The mechanism of powder dispensing is a little bit confusing at first. The first time you use it, you have to shake the tube A LOT before any comes out. I almost gave up, thinking the tube was defective. I didn't time myself, but I think it took about 7 minutes of on-and-off vigorous shaking. You'll know when it starts dispensing, because the black bristles will get a large light splotch on them, which will contrast a lot. Before that, some flecks may appear, but it is not dispensing fully yet. Shake the brush very vigorously! It takes quite a bit of effort. The instructions also say there is a "button" to press to make it dispense powder - there isn't one, just shake the tube. Once you get the powder flowing, this does a great job of mattifying shiny skin! While applying, you have to shake it again a couple times to get more powder to the surface of the brush, but you don't have to shake as much as the first time. I used oil blotting sheets first to soak up extra oil, so the powder wouldn't become cakey. After applying, my skin was completely matte. The powder is transparent, and doesn't change the color of my skin at all. A disclaimer, however, that I do have light skin - the powder in the tube does seem to be tinted a pale tan-peach tone, so it might look a bit powdery on dark skin. That's just theorizing, though, it might be transparent on dark skin as well. Overall a great product, once you get past the initial challenge of getting it to start dispensing. Highly recommended!

Mostly GREAT; problem for POCs
Pros: I honestly LOVE this product. It’s not meant to be your ONLY sunscreen (I apply a thick lower layer) but it is fantastic for removing sunscreen shine and reapplying throughout the day. It is 20% zinc oxide which is a huge amount, suggesting it protects well from the sun. It’s so easy to quickly brush on too. Cons: I hesitated removing stars for these reasons but they are important. The color is not 100% sheer. I believe it is sheer enough to work for most people on the lighter end of the spectrum. Being a white woman, I have no problem with the lighter color but I can see how if a person of color were to use the powder, it might be pretty awkward looking. Also, I don’t think there’s a good way to clean the brush part. I wish you could separate the brush from the powder basin. I do feel a bit icky not being able to give it a complete wash.

Love it
I've been using this product for years and really like it - I live in an area of bright sunlight year round, and over the past few years here, you need sunscreen all the time, everywhere; even in shade. You'll burn in the shade, or blocked by a building from the sun. I like this because it's light on the skin, not heavy, not greasy, it's a light powder you can brush on easily all over. It doesn't leave a tint. I also like it because if I'm outside, I don't always re-apply sunscreen regularly, and with this, it's easy to carry and really easy to brush on. Most sunscreens (even when they're riff says otherwise), make me breakout, and this one doesn't.

Works better than expected, but...
...the brush thing is REALLY annoying. The product itself is just fine, I took it with me on vacation in the Caribbean and used it almost exclusively on my face instead of regular sunblock. I did get a bit of a tan (probably should have reapplied more often) but no burn at all, even after a day trip to the BVI with a lot of sun exposure on the boat. The color is generally transparent: I'm quite fair, and it did not show except as a slight matte finish, at the beginning or at the end of vacation when I was more tanned. I always had to start it on the back of my hand to get it flowing, and if I forgot to wash it off it would come off on my clothes later on (doesn't stain though, it washes out fine). It did not cake or run, or transfer from my face, only problem was when I got it on my hands or neck. The only reason I didn't give it a higher rating, is the darn brush. Really, it's not a bargain product, why can't they use a brush that doesn't fall apart? Bristles everywhere, every time. I looked furry! Seems it would be so simple to improve that little problem.

HAPPY, Clap Along
This is my favorite product of this century! There are so many reasons why. I have very fair skin and burn easily. I've hated having to slather sunscreen all over my face, ears, neck, chest & shoulders. Even worse, re-applying when I'm already hot. Then if I started to sweat, the sunscreen lotion would sting my eyes. And I must mention having sunscreen lotion on my hands, it never seems to all come off after I've washed my hands. Brush on sunscreen has NONE of those issues! It's like using a fat makeup brush with translucent powder, EASY. When I sweat it doesn't run into my eyes. It doesn't cause breakouts because it doesn't clog my pores. It's easy to re-apply and I don't have to scrub my hands afterwards. It's very compact and easy to carry in my purse or wristlet. And, it really works! Sunscreen has always been a part of my life. But even more so after I had radiation treatment for breast cancer. I really have to be careful to protect the skin on my chest. This really works. **UPDATE** May 2017 This is still my favorite find of the century. I went to Mexico and used this on my face, neck, chest and shoulders without burning. It was pretty humid down there in April, and it felt great brushing this on, instead of slathering on something that was going to make me more hot and sticky!

SUNsational Sunscreen!
I absolutely love this sunscreen! It is a powder as opposed to a lotion or cream. I, personally, don’t like to use lotion or cream sunscreens because I find them thick and heavy. Mineral fusion offers the same protection from UVA and UVB rays with a light powder. Ill give you a little explanation as to types of sunscreens (I’m actually a Licensed Medical Esthetician). Chemical sunscreen (creams and lotions) absorb into the skin and then absorb UV rays, converts the rays into heat, and releases them from the body. They usually contain organic (carbon based) compounds, such as oxybenzone, octinoxate, octisalate and avobenzone. Physical sunblock sits on top of the skin and reflects the sun's rays. The minerals titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are the main active ingredients in physical blocks. Powder sunscreens are physical, while creams and lotions are primarily chemical. I personally, not only like the light feel of Mineral Fusion’s powder sunscreen, but I also would rather have the UV rays reflected rather than absorbed; even though absorption eventually releases them from your body. So there you have it. It is definitely a subjective preference, but whichever you pick, make sure it says “Broad Spectrum.” This promises to protect your skin from both UVA and UVB rays.

Terrible applicator - messy, powder everywhere!
**Revision** This product was messy for the first 4-5 applications, but after that it stopped leaking. It is easy to apply and goes on smoothly with very little color (big bonus for me). It seems to prevent sunburn, is smooth and goes on light and easy. I really do like this product and am using it every weekend at the moment. I think the product works just fine, but the packaging is awful. I opened the package and powder was EVERYWHERE! I thought maybe it just got shaken up in shipping, so I carefully used it, pulled the sleeve back up and stored it in its' box, sitting upright on my bathroom counter. The next time I used it - powder everywhere again! I really want to like this product, but if I lose it all on the counter each time I use it - it is not worth the time or money. Maybe I got a flawed applicator?

Bueno, durable
