Can this be stated indoors in subdued sunlight? outside it gets to the 40s at night even here in southern california. could this kill the plant?

anything under 40° will damage a banana plant if extended.

Are these pups from the mother tree or tissue cultures?

I am not sure about that though I think from mother tree. I potted mine and wintered it in my garage. I live in the mountains of NC. She did very well and I set her and another one, different kind, out when ground was warm. So far, "The King" is doing very well. Growing nicely while the other one is still small. When set out, just be sure to muclh well.
