I tried True Nutrition beef protein isolate and it was awful. Didn't mix well & the taste was gag-worthy. BulkSupplements checked of my list of adequate protein per serving, minimal ingredients and possibly the best price to weight ratio I've found. I was apprehensive as there were many complaints on this product but I was pleasantly surprised. It mixes well, has minimal taste (I bought unflavored) and has had no adverse effects on my stomach. I tried it for the first time today (12/16/2025). Package lot number is 2505806. Hopefully whatever the issues were have been sorted because I'm very pleased with this.

Gross. This is my first time trying beef isolate protein. From what I've read, it should be subtle enough to mask the flavor in a well-rounded smoothie or some creamy coffee. Nope. This is strong smelling and strong tasting and not in a good way. It leaves a bad aftertaste. It's actually sour and almost putrid tasting and smelling. I thought I got a bad batch but reading the reviews it looks like not. What a shame and a waste of money. I wish I knew if another brand would be better but I'm afraid to try.

I’ve been buying this for a couple years and consuming everyday. It’s been subtle in smell and taste when mixed into my morning coffee and I’ve loved the ease of digestion as I have significant gut issues. The last 3 shipments I’ve received came in a slightly smaller bag but then you open it and the air fills with a gross putrid smell that was never there before. The color has also changed and is more yellow and the true test it tastes like it smells! Cannot mask it and is literally not palatable. My stomach was grumbly and bloated after forcing down a 1/2 serving of my usual amount with coffee. Please go back to your original formula. I’m not sure what changed or why but I am no longer a loyal loving it customer and will not be buying this anymore.😥🤢

I will repeat what many reviewers have said before me. What was once an amazing product, is now a disgusting one. Do not buy this expecting you’ll get the same fine powder that had a mild smell and taste. It is foul tasting and smells worse. I wrote to the company and asked what had changed and why, and I received the most disappointing nonsense from one of their talking heads. They didn’t address my question, but instead defended their high standards for production and safety. Too bad. I really liked this company.

This stuff is pretty crazy. Dissolves extremely quick, and by itself has very little flavor, but hit hints of chocolate and nuttiness. The smell is a little offputting at first as you can definitely smell the beefiness to it, but it does not taste beefy at all. I add a little bit of flavor god cinnamon roll, or chocolate donut flavoring just to give it a little bit of a sweeter taste, and it is perfect. Highly recommend for anyone on a low carb diet.

So I been looking for some additions to my carnivore diet and discovered this. I just mixed some in my bottle and drank it less than 5 minutes ago. The most prominent flavor was a sour taste almost like it gone bad or something. There was only a hint of beef flavor. This has basically the protein from beef without the fat. So it should give an energy boost which is what I'm feeling now. My stomach is feeling slightly off. I added a good amount of salt to try and make it taste better and it still tasted strange. Next I will try adding in beef broth/stock and see if that makes it taste any better. Update: I tested this out using Amazon fresh brand beef stock and beef broth. It definitely seems to taste better with the broth. With the stock it tasted better than with water but still not as good as with the broth. Without a doubt it tasted the worse mixing with just plain water.

I've re-ordered this unflavored beef protein isolate 7 times, as well as many other supplements from Bulk Supplements. I like the unflavored because I can sweeten and flavor a shake, or add it to savory dish to increase the protein content. I even liked this just mixed with cold water. Something was off with the last bag that I received and as you know, these items are not returnable. I was shocked at how bad this latest protein powder tasted and it didn't matter what I mixed it with, it just had a really funky taste and smell. I reached out to the company to advise them that I had a problem with my recent purchase and all I got back was a generic email about their rigorous testing standards. No apology that I had a problem with this last order and no offer to replace it. I really liked this brand because the ingredients were so clean, but I'm afraid to reorder it because I don't know if my recent bag was from a bad batch, there was just a problem with this one bag, or quality control has been deeply compromised. It was really disappointing customer service and I'm looking for another beef protein powder to replace this brand as I'm reluctant to blow $40 on another bag that tastes like this one. I'm dairy sensitive and can't do whey.

I ordered this product months ago and it was great. No smell, blended well with foods that don’t work with the usual sweetened protein powders. But the last batch — just check other reviews. A strong, unmistakeable barnyard smell that wafts from the bag. I’m no vegan-leaning purist, but no thanks. $$$ in the trash.

It is helping in increasing my protein intake for weight loss goals. Super easy to add to everything, sweet or savoury, as it is tasteless and dissolves completely. Helps curb the appetite in between meals.

Don’t buy this product. Awful smell and taste disgusting. Not fit for human consumption. The worst part is, if you need to return this, you have to pay the postage to America ($40). That’s not worth. So save you money.
