it Came packaged flat ,straight and oiled up ..it’s been annealed and it’s easy to work with if you are wanting it for stock removal..one won’t be enough because you’ll want to make more and more knives with this easy to work with and easy to heat treat steel.

Worked fine
I did not use this for making a knife, so I could not comment about forging. I did use for another project, it is a hard piece of steel. I did drill it and use a hacksaw to cut it. Harder than regular steel.

Heat til non magnetic before quench
Good steel, edge holds like a champ after heat treat and tempering. If you’re new in the blade making hobby, this is a forgiving high carbon steel that will make for a good blade!

Great Stuff
1095 barstock. Heavy and real-feeling. Perfect for all the ceremonial daggers I intend to make one day. Also, very flat and straight and therefore useful for other purposes, too.

Mystery metal
Not even sure it is 1095. No label. No bag. Just 2 pcs of steel thrown in an amazon bag. Im suspect because not even 1 little rust speck. Ive bought many times. Never got it like thos.

Arrived Bent
It arrived with a pretty serious bend. I was able to bang it out, but not great if you're making a knife using the stock removal method.
