Succession: The Complete Series (DVD)

DISKS IN PERFECT CONDITION AND GREAT WRITING.

This is one of my all-time favorite shows. I don’t buy DVD’s anymore but had to make an exception for this one because it’s that good!

Succession is one of the best Tv series in recent years. I watched all the episodes when they aired on TV but still bought the box set. From memory one or two of the seasons aired during the pandemic so the show wasn't running at regular times. Watching the entire series again, ad free and back to back made it way more enjoyable than the first time viewing the show.Get the physical media folks. Time and time again I hear from friends who have purchased the digital version of a TV show only to have it disappear from their video library with no warning.

The DVD collection arrived in great condition. This is by far the best TV show in a very long time! Fantastic acting throughout from the main actors to the extras. Warning to those who don't like a lot of cursing, there is quite a lot of F-bombs in the script but the superior acting, storyline, production, etc. makes up for it. It is worth the binge time I spent.

No one seems to mention this...but the language is offensively in the gutter. I'm not opposed to strong dialogue when it adds to the plot/character development. Seriously, there is seldom a line that doesn't include the F Bomb...(or worse) and disgusting references. Bad, bad writing when this bombardment of swearing substitutes for anything else.

Succession is one of the best TV series I've ever seen in recent years. As soon as it ended, I waited patiently for the complete series to drop on a physical format (even longer, since we got a DVD, first). Quality-wise, the series is great, however, the packaging leaves a lot to be desired.The set comes in a durable, DVD-sized, clear clamshell. However, upon opening, the discs are arranged in top-to-bottom stacked "pages"; 2-per page, that aren't attached to the inner spine. Worse, the spindle holding each disc consists of two rigid teeth that are prone to breakage and make removing/placing the discs back in the case incredibly frustrating. I realize physical media is becoming a niche product, but it's unfortunate the major studios have exercised this cheap packaging as a cost-cutting measure.For serious collectors, I recommend mediaxpo's 12-disc case as a replacement (https://a.co/d/0sI4LHd). Despite the inner-print fitting with minor overhang within the spine, and the slipcover fitting slightly-snug, the spindles/hubs feel much easier and more comfortable on the discs, themselves.

I may be in the minority but I always hear people say “once you graduate from suits, go to succession”. I did it backwards, I bought this complete series & then suits. & I have to say I don’t really see the comparisons that much, also I prefer suits to this. The show’s entertaining but it’s a bit hard to root for anyone in this at times. Questionable “protagonists” which I guess is the point. Also I don’t think it’s as funny as people claim it is. Sometimes sure but barely.

Quality discs. I'm afraid to buy DVD's because of some of the crap out there, but these were good!
