Will this remove water spotting for a car wash?

No, It will not remove water spots when washing a car

can i attach this directly to the spicket or does it have to be attached to the end of the hose?

It can be attached directly to a spigot, but typically it is used on the end of a hose.

Does this rid calcium?

Im not sure. The calcium hardness of my water seams to be the same weather I use it or not. Does a great job removing metals. I use it to fill and top off my spa. Saves me a ton of headache starting with “clean” water.

does it have a shut-off valve or does it have to turned off at spigot?

Turn off at water spicket.I put a shut off valve on filter.
