About Abelha Cachaca Gold ------------------------- Abelha Cachaça starts life in Bahia, Northern Brazil, where a collective of small-holding farmers grow sugar cane 100% ally on highland sandy soils. The cane is processed within 24 hours of being cut to ensure freshness and is then fermented using natural yeast from the farm. The cachaça is then distilled in small batches in a traditional copper still and rested for 6 six months in steel tanks. It is then cut with water from a deep natural aquifer under the farm. To create Abelha Gold Cachaça, the liquid is aged for three years in Brazilian Ash. The Responsible Trading Company (RTC), which produces Abelha Cachaça, likes to do things the responsible way, and has developed fair partnerships with small holding farmers. RTC has all the know-how to help these farmers grow sugar cane responsibly and ally. The sugarcane farm workers are guaranteed a fair price and a fair wage. Overall, this makes for happier farmers, better quality sugar cane and a beautiful-tasting cachaça.
